StudyAlarm Privacy Policy

StudyAlarm ("we," "our," or "us") is developed and operated by AS Labs, founded by Arjun Srivastava. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
By using StudyAlarm, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our application.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we collect:
- Email address - Used as your unique identifier and for account-related communications
- Display name - Used to personalize your experience
- Profile photo URL - Displayed within the app for a personalized experience
- Google User ID - Used to securely identify your account
2.2 Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you use the app:
- Study statistics - Questions answered, accuracy rates, study time, and streaks
- Alarm configurations - Your alarm settings, schedules, and preferences
- Quiz performance - Answers to practice questions and performance metrics
- Subject preferences - Which subjects and question types you study
- Achievement progress - Badges earned and milestones reached
2.3 Technical Data
We may collect:
- Device information - Device type, operating system version
- App version - Which version of StudyAlarm you're using
- Crash reports - Technical information to help us fix bugs
- Usage analytics - Which screens and features you use, session counts, and interaction events, collected through Google Analytics for Firebase and linked to a random analytics identifier rather than your name

4. Question Content and AI Technology
Regarding our question content:
- Questions are generated using AI technology and reviewed for accuracy
- We are not affiliated with College Board, ACT Inc., or any official testing organization
- Our questions are for practice purposes only and do not guarantee specific test scores
- Question difficulty and format are modeled after official tests but are not official materials
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We share your information with the following third-party services:

6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely:
- Cloud Storage - When signed in, your data is stored in Google Firebase servers with industry-standard encryption
- Local Storage - A copy of your data is stored locally on your device for offline access
- Encryption - Data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL protocols
- Access Controls - Cloud data is stored under your account and protected by Firebase Security Rules, so only your signed-in account can read or write it
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
7.1 Access Your Data
You can view all your stored data within the app, including your statistics, alarms, and account information.
7.2 Delete Your Data
You can delete your account and all associated data through the app's settings (Manage Account -> Delete Account) or from our account deletion page. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
7.3 Reset Your Data
You can reset all your data (statistics, alarms, progress) through the app's Manage Account settings while keeping your account.
7.4 Limit Analytics
Analytics is collected under a random identifier and is never sold. You can reset or limit this identifier and ad personalization through your device settings (on Android: Settings -> Google -> Ads, and Settings -> Google -> Usage & diagnostics). You may also contact us with any questions about analytics.
7.5 Withdraw Consent
You can sign out at any time. Your cloud data will be preserved but no longer actively synced until you sign back in.
8. Children's Privacy
StudyAlarm is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13.
- Signing in requires a Google Account, which Google requires the holder to be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in their country)
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
- We collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide the app, and never condition use on providing unnecessary personal information
- Parents or guardians who believe a child under 13 has used the app can contact us to have that information reviewed and deleted
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
9. International Users (GDPR Compliance)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights:
- Right to Access - Request a copy of your personal data
- Right to Rectification - Request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to Erasure - Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to Portability - Receive your data in a portable format

- Legal Requirements - Some data may be retained longer if required by law
12. Permissions Explanation
StudyAlarm requests the following Android permissions to function properly:
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM - To trigger alarms at your specified times
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS - To display alarm notifications and quiz questions
- WAKE_LOCK - To wake your device when the alarm triggers
- VIBRATE - To vibrate your device as part of the alarm
- USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT - To show the quiz screen even when your device is locked
- REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS - To ensure alarms work reliably
- INTERNET - To sync your data and authenticate your account
These permissions are used solely for app functionality and never for unauthorized data collection or tracking.
13. Premium Features and Payments
For premium subscriptions and purchases:
- Google Play Billing - All purchases and subscriptions are handled securely by Google Play's payment system
- No Payment Data - We never see or store your credit card or payment information
- Purchase Records - Your subscription status is stored on your device and in your account profile so premium features work across your devices
14. Push Notifications
We may send you push notifications for:
- Alarm reminders and quiz alerts
- Study streak reminders
- Achievement unlocks
- Important account updates
You can disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.
15. Third-Party Links

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:

17. Do Not Track
Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature. We currently do not respond to Do Not Track signals, but we do not track users across third-party websites.
